- 75 percent of luxury home buyers believe home ownership is a sounder investment than the stock market.
- 57 percent of luxury home owners say home ownership is a bigger indicator of success than their job or title.
Your typical luxury home buyer in Knoxville has very high standards when it comes to where they choose to live. They aren’t afraid to invest the money, time, and persistence needed to find or build the home that not only fits their needs but also shows off who they are.
The following are some additional highlights of the survey:
- 53 percent prefer owning multiple “lifestyle” homes to support their lifestyle activities, whether it be golfing or boating.
- 58 percent of the luxury home buyers say they already owned multiple homes to support their lifestyle activities.
- 60 percent of luxury home buyers said they would rather have upgrades rather than greater square footage.
- 94 percent would give up 1,000 square feet of living space in order to get the amenities they most desire, (i.e.: better neighborhood, living in a house with “character,” more land, access to dining and entertainment, and a shorter commute.
- 66 percent would rather have a “smart” home than a “green” home.
- 87 percent responded they would not consider purchasing a home that was not tech-friendly.
- Luxury homebuyers placed a high value on outdoor amenities as must-have essentials in a home. (i.e.: garden oasis, outdoor fireplace or firepit, or separate guest house outside of the main home)
